CHILDREN’S MINISTRIES

At Shenandoah Baptist Church, we think children are very important! We have a ministry designed just for children and their spiritual education. The purpose of our Children’s Ministry is to:

  • Reach each child and his or her family for Bible study and worship.
  • Help children understand biblical truth so that spiritual foundations are laid for them to come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior when the Holy Spirit leads them to that commitment.
  • Enrich the spiritual growth of each child.
  • Provide guidance and opportunities that will help each child develop into a responsible Christian and church member.
  • Minister to the needs of children and their families.

Sunday School

Sunday school is available at 9:30 AM for all of our children. The classes are divided between preschool and elementary age children. The elementary age Sunday school class begins with praise music. Your child will also learn a bible story through reading scripture and other activities such as games or crafts. The preschool age class is taught a bible story and completes a craft. The preschool class also includes time for free play.

Children in Action (CIA)

CIA (Children in Action) is the Wednesday night program for kids in the 1st-5th grade. It is a fun-filled evening of learning about missions and how we can share about Jesus in our everyday lives. Each month, the kids learn about missionaries in a new national or global city, have a bible focus story, and learn memory verses all while playing games and having fun. The kids even participate in local and global missions throughout the year.

Wednesday 6:30-7:30

Nursery/Preschool Ministry

The nursery is where we meet the needs of the youngest in our church family. Our time with these little ones – newborn through age three – is spent singing songs, engaging them in play, and teaching simple lessons about our Lord. This ministry allows parents to worship and learn about the Lord during this time.

Sunday 9:30 – End of Worship Service and Wednesday 6:30 – 7:30 PM

Mission Friends

A time for our preschoolers to gather and learn about missionaries and what they are doing in other parts of the world.

Wednesday 6:30 – 7:30 PM

YOUTH MINISTRY

Shenandoah Baptist Church’s Youth Ministry seeks to train our youth to be strong, bold, out-loud followers of Christ. It is our goal for every teen to know what they believe, why they believe it, and how to live it out and share it with others.

Our services are designed to be topical and relevant to the issues that our teens face in today’s culture. We also like to have fun. We have regular events such as movie nights, costume parties, turkey bowl, and several others. We also have several annual events such as D-now, summer camps, and mission projects. We want out teens to have some ownership in the ministry, so their input and ideas are always welcome. After all, it is their ministry.

ADULT MINISTRIES

Men’s Ministries

The mission of the Shenandoah Baptist Church Men’s Ministry is to biblically train and outfit men to grow in their faith, become strong spiritual leaders in their homes, church and places of business, and to expand them in Christian living. The ministry seeks to accomplish this through Bible study, prayer groups, mentoring breakfasts, and fishing and hunting retreats.
In today’s culture, it is increasingly important for men to honor God with their hearts and their lives. The Men’s Ministry at Shenandoah wants to help men in that journey.

Women’s Ministries

Our Women’s Ministry exists for reaching, teaching and nurturing the women of our church and community so that each woman will come to faith, Christian maturity, and service through interaction with God, His Word, and one another.
This is accomplished through Bible studies, women’s conferences, weekend retreats, and fun social events throughout the year. Our Bible studies, programs, and events are planned with your needs in mind. Your heart will be inspired, your life enriched, and your relationships strengthened, especially your relationship with the Lord.

Where Mom’s Connect

Where Mom’s Connect is for moms of all ages. We have moms with newborns and moms with kids grown and at college, single moms, working moms, and stay at home moms. But the one thing that we have in common is that someone calls us Mom.
We come together on Wednesday nights from 6:30-7:30pm. There is childcare provided by trained and wonderful nursery workers that have been with the church for 15 years for infants and toddlers. There are children’s and youth activities going on at the church for Pre-K to high school age kids. So as moms we can use this hour to relax, knowing our children are being cared for, and connect to other moms. We have shared stories and ideas on parenting and laughed a lot.

Sew Many Ways

Our sewing group meets every Tuesday from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm in the Shenandoah Fellowship hall. We enjoy quilting and creating handmade memories. Our group ranges from beginners to experienced sewers, and all will lend advice and encouragement.
It is your choice what you sew: quilts, clothes, embroidery, knitting, etc…all are welcome! If you choose quilts, we piece our quilts by machine, and then do machine quilting. You may also complete your quilt by hand. We have patterns and some equipment you may borrow.
It is not requirement that you attend our Church; however we do highly recommend Shenandoah Baptist Church!
We hope to see you soon! Please join us and SEW MANY WAYS!

Worship Ministries

The Worship Ministries at Shenandoah consist of a Worship Choir, Worship Instrumentalists including guitars, keyboards and drums, and a Technical Crew for sound and video.

Our worship style could be described as “Blended” as we have both Contemporary and Traditional Christian Music each Sunday morning and at other occasions. Occasionally, we include Old Time Gospel styles of music as well. Participation in the Worship Ministry is open to youth through adults.
